WHO IS THIS GUY
* Mentor – I like to help others improve, and I do it by example as well as by teaching.
* Honest Assessor – I will tell you what you need to hear, not always what you want to hear.
* Diplomatic – I will tell you what you need to hear in a nice way. Most of the time. We all have our moments.
* Teacher – In whatever field, I can take very complex concepts and translate them for people at all levels.
* Passionate – I'm generally a laid-back guy, but when it comes to the things in life I genuinely care about, I'm passionate about them. Development practices and scotch come to mind.
* Funny – I'm way funnier than most developer geeks. Trust me on this. I know a lot of developer geeks.
* Adaptable and a Fast Learner – If you look in my Education, you'll notice I have no technical training whatsoever. Yet, in my career path, I've been both a trainer and a developer lead several times, and now I work for one of the premiere groups of developers in the KC area. Some people think my lack of a formal computer science degree is a liability, but personally, I think it says something about me.
WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE
* Experience – I've done work for companies of all sizes in all kinds of environments, including freelance work. I've worked in C#, VB, ASP.NET, PHP… if it has an acronym, I've probably done a project in it.
* Solid Practices – My journey as a developer has led me through practices like Test Driven Development, agile processes, Scrum, XP, object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, etc. These haven't been learned from a textbook, but in the crucible of learning them in the course of real projects for real companies. I know how to make them work in the real workplace.
* Teamwork – I've been a leader, a follower, and a co-collaborator on teams large and small. I've
